Well I lied...

Mon Jul 13, 2009, 4:25 PM
I broke and gave in... kinda. Does it count if I helped someone else to make something? I cut the fabric but she actually sewed it all. :P Hey Sarah you should post a pic of your awesome project!!! We worked hard on that sucker :P Btw, you like my new profile pic? :D
Well to any of you that haven't heard through the grapevine, I'm expecting. Now I get to make cute baby costumes for next akon! YAY! :D I guess the Kureha project is on hold indefinitely since I'm not about to wear that right after having a baby. Cammy you're gonna have to tell me your secret for getting back into shape afterwords.
I think the next project for now is mending a few things (aka making them bigger to fit a soon to be growing belly) and a yukata for Seb. He's been asking for one and I've had the fabric for a while now but I just realized the pattern book was one of the first I packed up so I'm not about to go and dig that out right now. Oh well... Other than that not much else happening right now.

ha ha those are awesome! :P I'm doin great. had to throw a fit this weekend though. none of my pants or skirts fit now except for my jeans. grr...
:iconcamelliaruth:
Awhhh :P I know how that one feels <3 <3 <3 That's just the beginning just wait untill you are a different size pretty much every week. :P and maternity clothes shopping is no fun either, but there is a brand of pants at Macy's in the Juniors section that are "maternity jeans" that worked out well for me untill the last two months, and then they work out really well after the baby again too. They have a knit fold over band at the top.. I think the name of the pants are Jolt Jeans. Here is a picture that I could find.. these are shorts but they have jeans too like that..

In the macy's store in Houston I've never seen them over 27 dollars (usually cheaper like 17) and if you can get a macy's coupon then you can get like 20 % off too.. I get the coupons in the mail all the time. For some reason they have them more expensive online.

Do you know the name of the type of shoes the girl is wearing here? And the name for the socks.. I think you have some similar socks for your costumes? [link];pageNumber=1&;pageStop=stop_17&noSubType=Y

yeah I'm finally starting to actually show but my jeans are still holding out since I'm carrying so high so far. I just dont wanna really go clothes shopping so I keep putting it off. Especially since I can wear the jeans to work too. ^_^

yeah those socks are tabi socks. I have some. They are just your traditional Japanese socks and they close in the back with a couple of flat hooks. I think I actually have a pattern for them somewhere if you want to make some. Those shoes are called zori I believe. Again traditional Japanese. I believe technically they are actually supposed to be a little smaller than your foot (like in the picture) which works out perfect for most of us big footed Americans. :P But there's tons of websites that sell them and you can get any size that's comfortable (which i would recommend anyway).

The link for the pants still works even though it looks like it messed up in my post. :P

Hello! Hope you're feeling okay! :P

I know you're super busy right about now, but when you get a chance would you mind asking your dad/mom where they found those signs that they have in their kitchen? Or maybe you know.. Did they order them online? I've been trying to find some, but can only find the cheap-o screen printed pizza pan kind. I want some really good quality ones like theirs. ^^

Wow I can't believe you remember the decorations in my parents kitchen :P Actually most of those are antiques. My Dad loves collecting all kinds of old signs. (I brought him back a street sign from Denmark once :D) Your best place to look would be in antique shops and malls and probably flea markets. Anywhere they sell old junk. You might even get lucky with the right garage sell. That way you can actually see the sign and see its condition and how thick it is and all that. Good luck ^_^
